Role Description

This is an entry-level, full-time hybrid role for an Information Technology Support Engineer based in the greater Athens area in Greece. The Information Technology Support Engineer will be part of the Level 1 support team that provides direct assistance to SmartNS Technological S.A’s customers. This support encompasses addressing various IT-related issues, troubleshooting problems, and aiding customers with their system and network concerns. As this is a customer-facing role, it demands excellent communication skills and a willingness to engage in day-to-day communication with end users. The role also requires on-site visits to customer’s premises.

Key Responsibilities

  • User Support: Provide technical assistance and support to end-users, addressing their IT-related concerns, issues, and questions on-site or remotely.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to users’ workflow.
  • Ticket Management: Utilize ticketing software to log, track, prioritize, and manage user requests and incidents.
  • Hardware Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and repairs on computer hardware, peripherals, and networking equipment.
  • Software Deployment: Install, configure, and update software applications as needed
  • Network Support: Assist with network-related issues, including connectivity problems, VPN setup, and basic troubleshooting of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.
  • Security Awareness: Adhere to IT security best practices and policies, reporting and addressing security incidents promptly.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation of support activities, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions for future reference.
  • Hardware and Software Inventory: Maintain an inventory of IT assets, including hardware and software licenses.
  • 27/4 Support Center: Be member of our 24/7 support team to support our customers operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • IT Degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Any kind of computer industry certifications will be considered a plus.

Other requirements:

  • Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
  • Experience in customer interaction and delivering technical solutions.
  • Quick learner in new technologies.
  • Completion of military service is a plus but not a must have. (applicable to male candidates).

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to contribute to several long-term network infrastructure projects for high-profile clients. The ideal candidate will have solid hands-on experience in designing, configuring, implementing, and supporting Cisco enterprise and data center networking environments.

A CCNA certification is required. Experience with Cisco Catalyst and/or Cisco Nexus solutions is strongly preferred. Candidates with CCNP-level knowledge (even if uncertified) will be considered an advantage.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on implementation, optimization, and troubleshooting of enterprise network environments. The role reports directly to the Network & Network Security Engineering Manager and involves close collaboration with Senior and Principal Engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and support enterprise and data center network architectures across LAN, WAN, and campus environments.
  • Perform deployments, upgrades, and troubleshooting on Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switching platforms, as well as routing technologies.
  • Assist in projects involving data center networking, redundancy models, segmentation, and multi-tier designs.
  • Ensure network performance, scalability, and high availability through proactive monitoring and optimization.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams and customer stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver successful technical outcomes.
  • Provide technical input to Project Managers during planning and execution.
  • Stay updated on enterprise networking technologies, Cisco architectures, and industry standards.
  • Support junior engineers where necessary.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of proven hands-on experience as a Network Engineer.
  • CCNA certification (required).

The role reports directly to the Network & Network Security Engineering Manager and will collaborate closely with our Principal Engineers.

Senior Data Center Network Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Data Center Network Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise data center networks, with a strong background in Cisco Nexus, Cisco ACI, and Cisco NDFC technologies. This role involves hands-on architecture, configuration, and optimization of complex data center network environments to ensure high performance, availability, and scalability for mission-critical systems. The position will be a member of a newly established, independent Data Center Engineering Team, reporting directly to the Technical Operations Director, and will work closely with our Principal Data Center Engineers and Project Managers to deliver large-scale infrastructure projects for enterprise and financial sector customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain complex data center network infrastructures using Cisco Nexus, ACI, and NDFC solutions.
  • Perform configuration, integration, and advanced troubleshooting of Cisco Nexus Switches, ACI fabrics, and NDFC-managed environments.
  • Develop and maintain L2/L3 network architectures, including VLANs, VPCs, VXLAN, EVPN, BGP, OSPF, and QoS.
  • Utilize Cisco NDFC for centralized fabric management, automation, and policy-based configuration of Nexus environments.
  • Support hybrid cloud integrations and virtualized data center environments.
  • Collaborate with IT, cloud, and security teams to ensure seamless network interoperability across systems.
  • Implement and maintain network monitoring, logging, and automation tools (Ansible, Python, REST APIs).
  • Participate in the design of high availability, disaster recovery, and network security strategies.
